Fancy3D Engine

2020 - 2021 at Fancy3D (Beijing, China)

  • Worked on various systems within our in-house cross-platform 3D game engine. (C++, Lua, OpenGL)

  • Refactored the critical postprocessing module and implemented a new object pool system for the rendering textures.

  • Developed tools and editor, including terrain material brush, animation tree features, and branch loading improvements, resulting in a much more efficient art workflow.

  • Implemented shader effects and tested them on multiple platforms.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally, troubleshooting games and implementing essential features and tools. The version of the engine I worked on powered two published games: Dark Nemesis and Ciber Fantasy.

All Of Us VR Experience

2022 - 2023 at GappLab (University of Utah)

  • All of Us is a national medical research program working on a historic effort to build the largest genetic database.

  • To experience the All of Us Research Program from the perspective of an active participant.

  • Built in Unity powered by Steam VR APIs.

  • Worked with Steam VR to add features to the VR experience.

  • Revamped the voice-over system by implementing the message queue pattern and enhancing its functionality.

  • Designed and implemented a VR-specific menu system, considering the unique user experience requirements of virtual reality.

Other Work at GappLab
  • Created an IK controller and animated a procedural robotic arm.

  • Implemented UV shifting to simulate a conveyor belt.

  • Collaborated with partners, designing gameplays and iterating on the prototype based on their feedback.

  • Maintained cooperative relationships with partners and provided support in deploying systems and applications.

  • Designed and implemented tools within Unity Engine using Editor scripts to streamline the workflow.
